Privacy Notice

Effective October 9, 2026

Who we are

Holo is an online marketplace for buying, selling and price-checking collectibles. This notice explains what information Holo collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account details: your username, email, password (stored encrypted), profile photo or color, and phone number if you add one.

• Addresses you save: registration, ship-to, ship-from, return and pickup.

• Listings, bids, offers, purchases, sales, feedback, watchlist, saved searches, your collection and search history.

• Messages you send to other members, and support tickets you send to us.

• Payment and payout details. These go straight to our payment processor (Stripe). Holo never sees or stores your full card or bank numbers.

• Device and usage information, such as app version, device type and push notification tokens.

What other members can see

Your username, profile photo, listings, reviews, and the review counts you choose to show. When you bid in an auction, your username, your bid amounts and the time of each bid are shown to everyone in the bid history. Your maximum bid is never shown. Your real name, email, phone number, addresses and payment details are never shown to other members (a buyer's ship-to address is shared only with the seller of that order).

Fraud prevention

When you sign in, Holo records your IP address, a random device identifier stored on your phone, and the time. We use these only to keep scammers and banned members off Holo: if a new account matches a banned account's IP address or device, it may be suspended automatically and a person reviews it. We keep these records for up to 2 years, and we never sell them or use them for ads.

If you report a scam, open a dispute, or chat with Holo Support, the Holo team reviews everything saved about the sale: the listing and photos, payment and order details, tracking, your messages with the other person, and anything either of you sends. An automated assistant (an AI model from Anthropic) may read it first to suggest an answer, but a person on the Holo team makes every final decision.

How we use it

• To run Holo: list items, process bids and orders, handle payments and payouts, print shipping labels and send alerts.

• To keep Holo safe: prevent fraud, scams, counterfeits and abuse, enforce our rules and settle disputes.

• To personalize Holo: suggest items based on your searches and views. You can turn this off in Account settings → Privacy and data.

• To answer your support tickets and improve Holo.

Messages

Members can send each other text messages. To keep everyone safe, messages may be reviewed by the Holo team, including to investigate scams, fraud, harassment, prohibited items, disputes and reports.

Photos can't be sent in messages. Don't share card numbers, bank details or passwords in messages. Holo will never ask you for your password.

Who we share it with

• The other member in a sale: your username, and the shipping address and name needed to deliver the item.

• Service providers who help run Holo, only for that purpose: Stripe (payments and payouts), Apple and Google (Pro subscriptions, sign-in and push notifications), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Supabase (hosting and storage), Shippo and shipping carriers (labels and tracking), Resend (email), and Anthropic (the Holo Expert and photo identify, which receive only the question or photo you submit).

• When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Holo, our members or others.

• Public information: your username, profile photo, listings, feedback and sales count can be seen by anyone using Holo.

We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except records we must keep by law (such as sales and tax records) or to resolve disputes and prevent fraud.

Your choices

• View and edit your profile, addresses and settings in Account settings.

• Turn push notifications and emails on or off in Notifications.

• Turn off personalized suggestions and clear your search history in Privacy and data.

• Request a copy of your data from Privacy and data.

• Close your account in Account settings → Close account.

Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights, such as asking us to correct or delete information. Contact us to use them.

Security

We use encryption, access controls and trusted providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong, unique password and turn on two-step verification.

Children

Holo is for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
